The Kut

The Kut are a basement rock trio currently based in London, represented by the independent record label Criminal Records.
Inspired by bands like Deftones, L7, Hole, Incubus, Placebo, Nirvana, My Chemical Romance, Faith No More and others, The Kut were voted into in the winning spots for the MTV UK Brand New Unsigned Poll at the end of November. Forthcoming single ‘NO TRACE’ was produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / White Zombie / My Vitriol / Manic Street Preachers / Page & Plant / Bjork and Def Leppard) and is a dark and emotive track taken from the forthcoming ‘Makeup’ EP.
Noteworthy shows include live sets at London 2012 Olympics and the Paralympics after being selected by the Teenage Rampage Foundation as well as a sold out UK tour - ‘The Love Hate Vampire Shotgun System Circus Tour’. The band have also been active on the club scene, with DJ sets for Kerrang! Klub, London and a string of 14 dates and counting on the Club Criminal UK Tour. The band’s last video ‘Closure’ was playlisted on Sub TV, Tuune, NME TV Radar and the Bongo Boy Rock n Roll show on 6 USA cable channels, Comcast Cable, CableVision, Time Warren Cable, RCN, and FiOS.
The current release marks an end to a release free time where the band were predominantly active as a live unit. Since formation a number of other demos have circulated in the buildup to the band’s debut album. December 2012 saw the band’s first unplugged UK tour, where vocalist/guitarist Maha was accompanied by other female instrumentalists, Stacey Douglas from ANNIMA on acoustic guitar and Sophie Haynes on the Cello.
The band's debut single, "The Vision," was a bestseller at HMV's flagship London store. They released their debut EP ''Poisonest'' shortly after, but that was later deleted by the band after the initial press run sold out. This was later followed up by the single "Doesn't Matter Anyway". The then b-side "Closure" was later released as a video. The band's album debut is due for release in 2013.
